Good grief! How nice, SLART! Thank you for making me feel like a genius. Or making me feel my genius. (If you had said "making me feel like a genius," I'd have hastened to point out that you _were_ one, so I guess turnabout's fair play.) As a long-time fundraiser, it is absolutely the right thing to do to ask for proposal feedback. Always! The worst that can happen is you get no reply. The best is sometimes very very helpful. I thought what you asked them was perfect. I once submitted something to our (U.S.) National Science Foundation. The rejection explanations were worth the price of admission--I mean, they were worth all the time I took to apply. That helpful!
Wow. I am letting this digest. Yes, please do ask about rejections. Again, non-petulantly but also non-obsequiously. Just with genuine desire to improve, a serious professional.
Cheers E.V. Appreciate your eyeballs on my post, all two of them.
Ah Chris Best, he’s just the underling to Mills Baker at Substack.
I appreciate that, I don’t know what I was expecting. But I must admit, I did take the rejection a little bit personally!
That would be cool. I’d definitely read it! I don’t this there’s enough written on artist’s practice.
Sounds good. I like my freedom like anyone, and I’ve found structure stifling in the past, but habits and routines are powerful. You can be creative with your structure too.

We are all one but we are also unique. Your insights into structure and habits are better the anything else written.
It feels like you’ve given me permission to ask for feedback often, I’ll go back to a previous rejection and ask them for specifics so I can learn!
Thank you 🙏

Imbibe my words, as they’re true. There’s people like James Clear who write about habits but it has no soul like your writing does!
I want to learn more about what I do well. Thank you!
Most welcome. Keep on bringing your unique voice to it!

What kind of art do you create? Can I see?
Thank you 🙏
