I would love to see a link to that speech that Beth was talking about. It sounds truly motivational. I always get pumped up hearing tales of those who overcome.
It's been 25 years since I heard the woman speak on that--and it has remained burnt into my brain, but there was no recording. I can attest that it has shaped my whole way of thinking about time, which I talk about in this 45-minute webinar: https://youtu.be/XvBq6J6dPg0?si=kjSMr27JpcQuZtOs but that is absolutely not the same as getting to hear it directly from that wonderful woman.
Oh, my Heavens, what a fabulous post! As a writer, I love your sense of when to include detail and when to go for a great visual. I love the imagery at the end--the cross! the crowds! The walkthrough is the coolest thing...helps us all visualise your show in this amazing space. This post is so coherent and inspiring to so many of us. I want to add that the woman in the story I told you had grown up working-class and that was why she felt she had so little support _from her faculty mentor_ who was supposed to be helping her finish! She quoted him saying something like, "People like you never finish." That either kills you off right there--or it fires the LIVING F-CK out of you, as it did her.
Thank you, I really appreciate your comments on my writing. I don’t try to write in a certain way, but I guess by writing a lot I’ve created an unconscious way of writing. Oh god, that horrid tutor, reminds me of someone… 😂
OOOOOH, I've just done the walkthrough - what a great space! 🙌 So excited for you!

Sure, I’ll check with Beth! Yes me too, it’s better than any fake guru who’s not done it for themselves 😂
We’er all trying my friend. Failure is one step closer to success. Every success, a footnote in the legend.
Isn't it!

I think I know who!
You really write well, SLART. I've been meaning to mention it!
This means a lot from a prolific writer such as yourself, Beth. I certainly feel a lot more comfortable after having so much ‘practice’!
That's how it is!
Thank you all for your support!
